The worst part about owning horses is the loss of a horse.  We try so hard to give them the best care available.  However, Pia died from complications of colic the morning of May 25, 2011.  It was such a shock to loose my precious Pia and my heart is broken.  Pia was a special filly.  Anyone who saw her knew she was a star.  She will always have a special place in my heart and her bloodlines will live on at Stillwater Farm.    

Dear Pia,

I hope you are frolicking in a field of wildflowers, leaping and running, free of pain.  You will always be my most special girl.  I watched you being born from the very first moment and kept you warm that first night.  I'll never forget you.  "Dance above ground, never descending.  Grace incarnate.  Passion on hooves."    Take care my sweet Pia.
